Cleaning the Entry Unit

COVID-19 has fundamentally changed much of how we live and work right now. However, the health and safety of our associates, customers and communities remains our top priority.

A good practice to limit the spread of the virus is periodically cleaning the surfaces, and among them, cleaning the safe handle and the buttons of the entry unit is a very important operation since multiple people are using it every day.

However, as the entry unit is not waterproof*, please take some precautions to perform a safe cleaning.

  • Detergents and/or disinfectants should never be sprayed directly on the product! Instead use a clean cloth or a paper towel and moisten it with the cleaning liquid.
  • Do not over-moisten the cloth such that liquid could run out or be squeezed out.
  • Alternatively, you can use moist disinfecting wipes designed for the cleaning of standard computer keyboards.
  • Using the moistened cloth or the disinfecting wipes, gently wipe the keypad in any area considered a touchpoint. Then use the wipe to clean the safe door handle as well.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Stay safe!

*) Waterproof is here a figure of speech: Cleaning detergents, alcohols and disinfectants are often conductive liquids that may damage the electronics if applied directly. The entry unit has no IP-rating against dust and humidity.
