The deadbolt version of the DUET was certified in 2016 by VdS (Germany) as Class 2 High security electronic lock. The initial certificate was valid from 19.01.2016 to 18.01.2020. In 2020, because the  overall sales of this lock type were much lower than the expectations, the manufacturer decided not to extend the certificate and shortly after that stopped production of this lock entirely.

At Lock4Safe, all DUET locks in stock have been produced prior to 2020 under the valid certification at that time. The certification (VdS class 2) of the locks remains valid, even though the production of the locks is ceased. Just the same as a safe keeps it’s certification even if the manufacturer stops the production. Relevant in both cases is the production date.

On a certified safe as well as on a safe lock the production date must be made visible on the product.
