We mourn the loss of Nick Gartner
We are sorry to announce that Nick Gartner passed away on September 5, 2023.
Nick made a significant impact on the safe lock industry for decades and enriched it with numerous innovations.
From his more than 50 patents, the most well-known led to the Swingbolt lock and the Combogard (33E, 39E).
Before joining the safe lock industry, Nick led a development team in the Apollo space program. Utilizing new materials and techniques, he brought fresh ideas to the security industry.
His career path led from Director of Research and Development at Sargent & Greenleaf, to founding and managing LA GARD and finally, in 2004, to founding NL Lock.
Until the very end, Nick has been working on new projects. Some of them are yet to be launched in the near future.
