Code aging / Code expiration
This function forces the user to change their code at the safe lock after a specified number of days. A few days before the expiry, this is indicated on the display. If the user neglects to change the code during this time, all authorizations of the user are blocked after the code expires. Changing the code is then the only available function. After the code has been changed the user receive back all their previous authorizations.
Code expiration is also used to automatically deactivate ghost codes in a safe lock.
We reccomend to use this function only in safe locks with text display. Without the explanation on the display, it is otherwise not clear to the user why the code “suddenly” no longer works.
